How long have you been teaching, and where?
when I was a boy the teacher in the next class up would drag me in to supervise that class when he had to go out. I started my job in korea, Inchenon in june 2003 at a McEnglish school along with canadians and cute korean women, SLP school. I taught there for four months but after throwing a blackboard erasure at a kid and pushing over a kid who hit a girl I was sacked and surfed the net for a job. China had an offer so SLP flew me there. My ticket was at the airport and I arrived in beijing with twenty US dollars. they asked me if I was russian, the chinese. Well no though my nose is big, I guess and my face angular. ..listen I'll get back to this, my gal phoned saying to come to ktv with her sisters
How long have you been teaching, and where?
later part2..well due to techinical difficulties albeit my computer at home not functioning here is the next move......I'm in northern china nowwhere three days ago it was snowing and today is summer. Its the province of the black dragon.
Who have been your most venal and incompetent employers?
well companies seem to be spiced with those with dollar signs in the eyes. Its more than just the chinese way of doing business that being short changed is par for the course at times. On a personal level, everyone is fine but the buck starts bucking at the buck and a dollar less paid is a dollar in their pocket. A competent person in an office soons manifests incompetency.
What's your standard of living like now?
well it varies with my class flow and the water flow of my apartment. If you can't flush the toilet and someone else has crapped in it. Its ok. Better than in australia comparitively. I haven't cooked a meal for six months.......theres no kitchen in my flat. Theres tv but no tv channels just vcd movies and my xbox. I do have a beautiful girlfriend so she helps add to the decor.
Where do you stand on the "shagging students" issue?
well theres so many other women who can be shagged I don't go there.Not that I haven't wanted to but hey, it might get someone blacklisted here.
What's been the worst moment for you in the classroom?
Saying goodbye to a class. You know like youve bonded, the forst 3D foreigner who theyve ever seen and become a friend to and its like, well I'm never going to be seeing you again.
Any particularly harrowing stories you'd like to share?
well yes like youre in a mountain city, miles from nowhere. The company in the big city far away has placed you there, your money is low and waiting for it to come in next month on the tenth then the big city company decide to play games with you and not pay you for the month but don't even tell you for days after a series of phonecalls to those in charge and there to help some of whom are canadian and supposedly on your side. Catching a bus and being on it for an hour and really wanting to have a shit is really harrowing too then when you burst into the restuarant noone knows what a w.c is. Have to go to class now..."class begin"...bye later......
